I hate your website…

Toby – that is very controversial of you !!!! Just wanted to add that growing a thick skin about your websites and all branding is essential in business imo. We have had SO much harsh feedback over the years and its only now that I can see how useful it was. Don’t get attached to colours, pictures or text. One of the main reasons a website exists is to bring you business (not to impress your friends…). Leave making your real personal impact on others when you meet.

eBay Local

Did you know that you can set up ‘local’ searches on eBay e.g. you can be notified of any house or garden items that come up within a 10 mile radius of your home. I am forever seeing things that I would like and then realising that they are ‘pick up only’ and are about 200 miles from our home! My neighbour told me about this handy tip and I thought it might be useful!

I love asking people I admire what books they would recommend to me. For me it is like a insight into how they created aspects of their success. What has influenced them? What motivates them? What inspires them? What worked? Which author’s message resonated with them and influenced their behaviours? I want to know so that I can dip into some of the same insights and learnings.

I often recommend ‘constant contact’ (a customer relationship service) to those just starting out with a small database but recently heard mixed reviews. Does anyone have any experiences to share? |

My England Rugby Shirt

Toby – gosh….I feel tired just reading about the shirt let alone making it…. your post reminds me of how amazing it is that so many lives are influenced by business. I feel that way about the people who meet and form friendships and businesses on our NLP courses. Had we not created our training courses, they would never have attended and never have met someone who then becomes a big part of their lives. The businesses we all build influence us on social and economic levels. I am still waiting for a couple to meet on one of our courses and then later marry…..maybe someday!!!! |

This thread definitely does not sit with anything uniquely ‘business related’ but did you know that you can set up ‘local’ searches on eBay e.g. you can be notified of any house or garden items that come up within a 10 mile radius of your home. I am forever seeing things that I would like and then realising that they are ‘pick up only’ and are about 200 miles from our home! Kate McCartney

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Kate McCartney and I work for EEUNI. I am also a NLP Trainer and work with my husband Toby McCartney in our company called WestOne NLP Training (www.w1nlp.com).
I love running and learning more and more about business and supporting others create new and exciting business so that they can live a life that they choose. I am most happiest with close business friends and associates when we are brain storming new ideas and sharing new learnings.
Here is my bio:
I have a secret to share…I was not originally your typical ‘entrepreneur’ – far from it. I was a very happy employee for a large corporate company. Climbing the ladder, step by step. I worked hard at school, worked hard at university, and then worked hard for someone else. That was until I realised that I was not prepared to choose between a career and having a family. My dream has been to create a rewarding business that accommodates the way I choose to live; they way I choose to raise a family and continue to do what I love.
I recently saw the quote ‘Do what you love’ and I said ‘I already do – in so many ways’. I am living my dream and this is what I want for you.

Love this idea. It works on the tube. Its ideal also for those who hate making chit chat in lifts too! |
